Video: Melissa Bailar presents “Variations on G[e]orges P[e]r[e]c’s Lipogram" at Écritures déliées, 2016, Rouen

Melissa Bailar, Associate Director of the HRC, presents a paper on Georges Perec's La Disparition (1969). Perec's lipogramatic novel, famously written without the use of the letter "e," provides the formal inspiration for Dr. Bailar's experimental paper, which constrains itself in the same way. The paper, "Variations on G[e]orges P[e]r[e]c's Lipgram: Th[e] Hyp[e]r-Pr[e]s[e]nt Abs[e]nc[e] of th[e] Vow[e]l," was presented at the Colloque international, ERIAC, "Écritures déliés" on November 4, 2016 at the University of Rouen.
